Hello everyone! 🌟 For today's Murphy Law Monday, we're delving into the crucial topic of crafting a visitation schedule for your minor child. This is a pivotal aspect of co-parenting that deserves careful consideration. 📆

Regular Schedule: First and foremost, establish your child's regular visitation schedule. Make it clear in your agreement that this is the standard routine that will be followed consistently, whether it's every week or every other week. Specify drop-off and pick-up times, locations, and who is permitted to participate in these exchanges. If past issues have arisen, consider including rules about who can and cannot be involved in the handovers.

Holidays and Birthdays: Decide how holidays and birthdays will be handled. Some may not place a high emphasis on holidays, preferring to stick to the regular schedule. Others may prioritize holidays like Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving and want specific guidelines for these occasions. Determine which day signifies the start and end of holidays, especially in odd and even years. Address school breaks, such as winter vacation, spring break, and summer break, and how they factor into the schedule.

Communication Parameters: Outline clear communication protocols for situations where one parent is running late. In the event of traffic or emergencies, please indicate whether you prefer to receive updates via text message or phone call. This ensures that both parents are aligned when it comes to being punctual and handling emergencies.

Remember, every parenting situation is unique, and your visitation schedule should reflect your child's best interests. 👨‍👩‍👦
