Angel Murphy is the Founding Partner of The Murphy Law Firm, LLC. As a licensed Maryland and District of Columbia attorney and passionate advocate, Angel takes a personal approach to lawyering by devising a creative legal strategy for each client and for each case.

Angel focuses her practice in criminal law and family law. Specifically, Angel handles matters involving family law, estate planning, guardianship, divorce, child visitation, child support, alimony, domestic violence, and custody.
Angel holds a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law and a Bachelor’s from the University of Florida in Criminology and Sociology.
While pursuing her law degree, Angel worked at the Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania and the Child Protection Section of the Family Services Division at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. Angel served in Howard University School of Law’s Criminal Justice Clinic and represented clients in criminal cases before D.C. Superior Court.
Prior to building her own practice, Angel served as a Corporate Finance Division law clerk for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a judicial law clerk for a prominent Prince George’s County Circuit Court judge. In both positions Angel managed a case docket of over 1,000 matters; made over 200 final recommendations on legal issues and motions, and drafted several legal opinions.
In her free time, Angel enjoys giving back to the Maryland legal community by volunteering with her local bar associations and assisting in the fostering and development of community-based rehabilitation opportunities for juveniles.

A graduate of Howard University with a B.A. in Political Science, Attorney Marshall holds a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law.
Attorney Marshall is admitted to practice law in both Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Prior to coming to The Murphy Law Firm, Attorney Marshall practiced law in the District of Columbia with a focus on Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Title IX and Family Law cases.
Attorney Marshall worked at DC Volunteer Lawyers Project as a Supervising Attorney, supervising attorneys and representing clients in Domestic Violence and Family Law cases.
Prior to that, Attorney Marshall focused her practice on youth survivors, aged 12-24, of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and stalking.
Attorney Marshall represented youth survivors in two organizations: Break the Cycle and Network for Victim Recovery of DC.
In her down time, Attorney Marshall loves to cook, workout, and travel. Above all, she loves living life, and helping people.

A south Florida native Attorney Murphy originally started the firm out of a love and liking of genuinely helping others. Attorney Murphy knew she wanted to be an attorney since the tender age of about 7 due to her sincere desire to assist a family member in navigating a legal battle. From there her passion for the law grew as she matriculated through college and later law school.

Attorney Newman is excited to bring more than 25 years of legal expertise—not to mention her lived experience as a child of divorce, a divorcée and a successful co-parent--to The Murphy Law Firm.
A native Prince Georgian, Attorney Newman was born at Joint Base Andrews and graduated from Crossland High School in Temple Hills, MD.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland in College Park and obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Law.
She is a skilled advocate, litigator, orator, negotiator and problem-solver, with a great attention to detail.
She understands that she is encountering vulnerable clients during one of the most difficult times of their lives and has a knack for counseling them through those challenges.
Prior to joining The Murphy Law Firm, Attorney Newman spent many years in public service. Her most significant experience was in Maryland Legal Aid, where she handled family law matters and represented children in the child welfare (dependency) system.
From there, she transitioned to a position as the Family Division Deputy Director—Juvenile at the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, where she managed court systems and staff to improve outcomes for youth in the dependency and delinquency systems.
Attorney Newman is a proud Mother of an Eagle Scout and student at North Carolina A&T University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and patronizing the arts, as well as being a newlywed, empty-nester and budding real estate mogul.

Subsequently, he took a position as an in-house SEO and marketing manager with a CPA firm in the greater Seattle area.
In addition to research and writing, Mr. Olson is a lifelong soccer player, as well as an avid amateur boxer.
