👋🎶 For today's Murphy Law Monday, I want to go over the factors that go into the course analysis for establishing child support. Here's what you need to know and what you should consider.

📌Gross income matters: The courts consider both parties' gross income, not net income or take-home pay.

📌Work-related child care expenses: Expenses for daycare and related childcare costs are important factors in the analysis. Keep receipts and proof of monthly expenses.

📌Extraordinary medical expenses: Costs incurred for a child's medical issues, beyond insurance coverage, are considered. Keep documentation of these expenses.

📌Transportation expenses: In some cases, the court may consider expenses related to transporting the child. This depends on the distance between parents and specific circumstances.

📌Health insurance coverage: The court evaluates the premium specifically paid for the child's health insurance. Ensure you have proof of the breakdown of insurance costs.

📌Focus on numbers, not living situation: The court's analysis prioritizes financial factors. Your living situation may be a consideration for deviation, but it's not guaranteed.

If you are navigating family law issues in Maryland or the District of Columbia, consider seeking legal assistance.
