About Angel M. Murphy, Esq.

Angel Murphy is the Founding Partner of The Murphy Law Firm, LLC. As a licensed Maryland and District of Columbia attorney and passionate advocate, Angel takes a personal approach to lawyering by devising a creative legal strategy for each client and for each case.

Angel enjoys helping her clients face and overcome their legal challenges. She identifies with her clients and will work tirelessly to ensure that they are treated fairly in the courtroom and that their case gets the best possible outcome.

Angel focuses her practice in family law and estate planning. Specifically, Angel handles matters involving family law, estate planning, guardianship, divorce, child visitation, child support, alimony, domestic violence, and custody.

Experience
History

Angel holds a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law and a Bachelor’s from the University of Florida in Criminology and Sociology.

While pursuing her law degree, Angel worked at the Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania and the Child Protection Section of the Family Services Division at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. Angel served in Howard University School of Law’s Criminal Justice Clinic and represented clients in criminal cases before D.C. Superior Court.

Prior to building her own practice, Angel served as a Corporate Finance Division law clerk for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a judicial law clerk for a prominent Prince George’s County Circuit Court judge. In both positions Angel managed a case docket of over 1,000 matters; made over 200 final recommendations on legal issues and motions, and drafted several legal opinions.

In her free time, Angel enjoys giving back to the Maryland legal community by volunteering with her local bar associations and assisting in the fostering and development of community-based rehabilitation opportunities for juveniles.

Angel Murphy, Esq.

Owner / founding attorney


A South Florida native, Attorney Murphy originally started the firm out of a love and liking of genuinely helping others.

Attorney Murphy knew she wanted to be an attorney since the tender age of about 7 due to her sincere desire to assist a family member in navigating a legal battle. From there, her passion for law grew as she matriculated through college and later law school.

Attorney Murphy holds a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law and a Bachelor’s from the University of Florida in Criminology and Sociology.

Kirisha Marshall, Esq.

A graduate of Howard University with a B.A. in Political Science, Attorney Marshall holds a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law.

Prior to coming to The Murphy Law Firm, Attorney Marshall practiced law in the District of Columbia with a focus on Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Title IX and Family Law cases.

Attorney Marshall worked at DC Volunteer Lawyers Project as a Supervising Attorney, supervising attorneys and representing clients in Domestic Violence and Family Law cases.

Prior to that, Attorney Marshall focused her practice on youth survivors, aged 12-24, of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and stalking.

Attorney Marshall represented youth survivors in two organizations: Break the Cycle and Network for Victim Recovery of DC.

In her down time, Attorney Marshall loves to cook, workout, and travel. Above all, she loves living life, and helping people.

Danielle Covington, Esq.

Attorney Covington is a passionate attorney dedicated to family law and serving her community. As a native Prince Georgian, Attorney Covington’s commitment to advocating for her clients is deeply rooted in her personal connection to the area.

Attorney Covington earned her Juris Doctor from The Catholic University, Columbus School of Law. During her time in law school, she demonstrated her commitment to family law by serving as a certified student attorney with the Families and the Law Clinic. Additionally, she interned at the Charles County State's Attorney's Office, further honing her legal skills.

Prior to joining the team at The Murphy Law Firm, Attorney Covington worked with other family law firms where she passionately represented clients in a wide range of family law matters, including domestic violence cases, custody disputes, child support matters, and divorce proceedings.

Her dedication to justice extended beyond her paid work as she also represented underserved clients in various clinics. She was selected as a fellow of the Pro Bono Resource Center, showcasing her dedication to making justice accessible to all. She provided legal assistance to indigent domestic violence survivors at Community Legal Services, offering them a lifeline in difficult times.

In her free time, Attorney Covington enjoys spending quality moments with friends and family, especially her nephews. She's an avid traveler, always seeking new adventures, and serves as an active member of the Risk Management Committee within her sorority.

Abigail is passionate about community service and helping others. She attended the University of Missouri and received a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with the emphasis in Leadership and Policy. She also received a minor in Business Management and Human Resources.

Abigail is a big advocate for families and loves working with people. She has a lot of experience working with many people who come from different cultures and backgrounds.

One of her biggest goals in life is to help make a difference somewhere along the way. Even though she is new to the world of law, she is eager to dive in and begin helping others reach their goals who come to The Murphy Law Firm.

In her free time she enjoys being outside, going to the beach, reading, getting involved in her church, and spending time with her friends and family.

John Whitworth

Meet John, a highly skilled and experienced Client service director with a passion for family law and estate planning. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Georgia, John has dedicated his career to helping clients navigate the challenging and emotional aspects of these legal areas.

With a focus on providing compassionate and personalized representation, John works tirelessly to ensure that his clients' goals are met and that the litigation process is as smooth sailing as possible. His extensive knowledge of family law and estate planning allows him to provide his clients with expert guidance throughout every step of their case.

When he's not in the office, you can find John out in The Gulf of Mexico, enjoying his favorite pastime of fishing with his four kids. His dedication to his family and his clients is a testament tohis unwavering commitment to providing exceptional legal representation.

Lauren is a seasoned sales professional with several years of experience working with families dealing with divorce, child custody issues, and other family law matters.
Lauren is passionate about helping families navigate through the hard decisions divorce and child custody litigation bring.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors with her three kids and her Bassett Hound.

Joined The Murphy Law Firm in September of 2022 as the Office Manager.

With over 30 years in the public and private sector, Rene'e enjoys the challenges and rewards that come with the daily operations of an office.

Rene'e is responsible for the overall coordination of a broad range of services and resources that allow the firm to operate efficiently.

Rene'e is a Florida Native and enjoys spending time with her family (especially her grand-children).

Stacey Craig

Stacey joined The Murphy Law Firm in 2020.  

She has more than 15 years of legal experience and is a certified paralegal.

Stacey organizes and maintains case files, helps manage caseload requirements, and oversees the legal staff.  

She also assists in all phases of litigation, from inception through trial.

Outside of work, Stacey enjoys watching her daughter play softball and traveling with her family.

Mayra Wright

Mayra joined the firm in August 2021. She began her legal path by attending law school in Lima, Peru earning her Bachelor of Law degree in 2014. She has over 10 years of legal experience assisting with Family law and divorce matters, completing trial preparation and case filings, drafted and filed motions, pleadings and other legal documents.

Mayra is a bilingual Spanish/English speaking paralegal. She has also garnered experience in providing legal services to low-income individuals.

Mayra looks forward to using her education and skills to compassionately and diligently help her clients throughout the duration of their family law matter.

In her free time she loves to spend time with her family. She also enjoys reading, trying new restaurants and traveling to new places.

Parker Morris

Parker received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Parker aspires to go to law school in the future. She has a strong passion for the legal field and assisting clients in making the litigation process as smooth sailing as possible during difficult times.

Parker is a mother of one and has two bonus fur babies.

Ronna is a graduate of Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy with over 2 years of working experience as a Paralegal in US law firms.

Prior to joining The Murphy Law Firm, Ronna worked with other family law firms as a Paralegal. She was mainly responsible for drafting legal pleadings.

In her free time, Ronna loves watching movies, spending time with her family, and she loves to travel

Pauline Javier

Pauline joined the firm in 2020 where she contributed most of the firm’s aesthetically curated social media content that are woven into a narrative associating the firm’s voice.

She then took on another role in the firm bringing over 12 years of administrative experience to the table with expertise in reporting analytics, data management and client services.

Her current role uncovers her natural ability as a problem-solver who works well under pressure providing a broad range of administrative duties to the firm and has gained an excellent reputation amongst colleagues for her customer service and attention to detail.

Her background in BS Nursing helped her foster the firm’s motto of being personable and passionate when relating and connecting to clients, and her commitment to service, always willing to undertake tasks regardless her scope of role.

A graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with advanced skills in MS Excel and 10 years of working experience with research, databases, reporting & analytics for a BPO company.

Currently, a Billing Specialist who creates and ensures timely, accurate invoices for clients & resolves billing errors.

Based in Seattle, WA, Mr. Olson attended Washington State University (BA, '08) and graduated from Indiana University McKinney School of Law (JD, '12).

After law school, Mr. Olson joined a small start-up company which focused on backlink SEO strategy.

Subsequently, he took a position as an in-house SEO and marketing manager with a CPA firm in the greater Seattle area.

In addition to research and writing, Mr. Olson is a lifelong soccer player, as well as an avid amateur boxer.

Alliah Crisostomo

Joined The Murphy Law Firm, LLC in April 2022 as a Social Media Manager. Her role is to develop content and help grow the firm's online reputation.

Alliah is currently in her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at a university in the Philippines.

Her passion for writing and editing is driven by her background in Journalism. In the past, she has worked with a company where she gained further experience in content creation and management.
